Palm Sunday Canterbury – marks the beginning of Holy Week, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. On 13 April, our celebration begins at 10:45 at the Yeomanry Memorial in Canterbury (opposite. Where we will gather for the Blessing of the Palms. This symbolic moment recalls the crowd’s joyful welcome of Jesus, waving palm branches and proclaiming him King. Following the blessing, we will informally process to the Cathedral. Re-enacting the ancient journey in a spirit of reverence and reflection. This short pilgrimage through Canterbury invites us to participate physically and spiritually in the events leading to the Passion. For those unable to join the walk, you are warmly invited to proceed directly to the Cathedral. Where blessed palms will be distributed.

At 11:00

We will celebrate the Palm Sunday Eucharist, a solemn and moving service that shifts in tone, leading us from the joyful welcome of Christ to the contemplation of his suffering.

At 17:30

Later in the day. We gather once more for Palm Sunday Evensong. n atmospheric choral service rich in music, prayer, and Scripture, drawing us deeper into the mystery of the coming days. Both the Eucharist and Evensong services (†) will be live streamed on our YouTube channel. Enabling everyone—near or far—to join in this sacred day. Palm Sunday invites us to walk with Christ, both in spirit and in truth, as we begin the holiest week of the Christian calendar.
