A procession through the city’s streets carries the new Paschal light, symbolizing Christ’s resurrection, toward the cathedral. The gathered community enters the cathedral in silence, soon to be filled with the jubilant declaration of Easter. This powerful service includes the blessing of the fire, the lighting of the Paschal candle, and the proclamation of the Exsultet. Scripture readings trace salvation history, culminating in the celebration of the Eucharist—Christ’s victory over death.

The day concludes at 9:00pm, after a full twelve hours open for quiet prayer, sacred music, and powerful liturgy. Joining for Evensong or journeying through the night in the Vigil, a profound space to encounter the mystery of Easter. Each service weaves timeless tradition with spiritual renewal, inviting all to witness and participate in the resurrection story.
