Blessing – The Oxford Community Passion Play returns to the historic streets of Bonn Square for a spectacular performance this Easter 2026. You should join our dedicated local cast on Saturday, April 4th, for a truly moving and powerful dramatic experience. The initial scenes unfold outdoors before the entire production moves gracefully into the nearby New Road Baptist Church building. Two full performances are scheduled for 12 noon and 2.30pm to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend today. Vibrant music from the Gospel Choir begins thirty minutes prior to each show to celebrate this joyous spring season.

A Musical Celebration of Faith

The talented Gospel Choir starts singing at 11.30am and again at 2pm to uplift every person in the crowd. These soulful melodies are designed to prepare your heart for the profound story that will be told during the play. Members of the community have rehearsed for many months to ensure that the singing reaches every corner of Oxford. You will hear classic hymns and contemporary songs that perfectly capture the festive spirit of this important Christian holiday. This beautiful music is free for everyone to enjoy while they wait for the main performance to begin shortly.

Witnessing the Passion Story

The dramatic retelling follows the life of Jesus and provides a deep reflection on the true meaning of Easter. Local volunteers portray every character with great sincerity to bring these ancient and famous stories to life for audiences. Spectators are encouraged to follow the actors as the narrative journeys from the open square into the church sanctuary. This immersive experience is created to inspire hope and foster a sense of unity among all people in attendance.
